Adult Sports Offered
-
Aikido
This class is designed to incrementally learn the Japanese martial art of Aikido as a health and fitness lifestyle. The goal in Aikido is to defend oneself, rendering as little harm as possible to an aggressor.
-
Basketball
Shoot hoops with your friends in a semi-competitive atmosphere. Whether you are serious about your hoop game or just enjoy passing the ball with your friends, this fun and competitive league will give you a chance to keep your mind and body sharp.
-
Co-Ed Volleyball Leagues
Meet new friends and practice a favorite team sport also invented by the YMCA! 6-10 players per team; all levels welcome. Players can sign up with a group or be placed on a team. Participants play a minimum of 25 games per season, plus a playoff tournament at the end.
-
Flag Football League
Grab some friends and sign up for our Adult Flag Football League, where you’ll get to practice skill development in a positive, structured environment. Team captains must register with the Y first.
-
Lap Swim
Some recreational swim times are scheduled regularly throughout the week for our members and guests. Lap swimming is an excellent opportunity to practice swimming skills and a fun way to get some exercise!
-
Pickleball
Described as the fastest growing sport for adults, pickleball is a racquet sport that combines badminton, tennis, and table tennis. The court dimensions are the same as a doubles badminton court, and the net is similar to a tennis net but mounted two inches lower.
-
Racquetball
Did you know that racquetball was first played in 1952 at the YMCA? Since then it has grown in popularity as an intense, fast, calorie-burning workout.
-
Tennis
Tennis is not only a great aerobic and cardiovascular exercise, but it also improves hand-eye coordination, agility, and flexibility.
