The Metropolitan YMCAs of the Oranges is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that depends on the generosity of its supporters to continue providing quality programs for the children, families and adults we serve. West Essex YMCA is one of our five branches.

It is our mission to assure no one is ever turned away from a Y program because they could not afford to participate.  We are also committed to maintaining our facilities so they are safe and up-to-date, and attractive to top-notch staff to run our programs.  We do this through our YMCA Strong Kids Annual Support Campaign, our Kids’ Care Club Golf Tournament and other fund raising campaigns.

YMCA Strong Kids Campaign -  Each year, West Essex YMCA provides over $130,000 in financial assistance through the YMCA Strong Kids program to ensure that no one is ever turned away from participating in our YMCA programs.  Although the vast majority of our recipients are kids who come to us for child care, camps and after-school programs, we also provide assistance to adults and seniors for programs that contribute to their overall health and well-being.  Your contribution to YMCA Strong Kids Campaign will go directly to provide financial assistance and program support for a deserving child or family so they may access the programs they need.

You can help…

  • provide quality child care for parents who must work to meet basic needs…
  • enroll a teen in a program so they have a safe place to spend their after-school hours…
  • provide physical therapeutic activities to a senior who would otherwise be housebound…
  • send an urban child to a sleep-away camp for hiking, sailing and swimming…
  • and more.
