Through the generous support of our friends, the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is able to deliver top-quality programs to the children and families of our communities, regardless of their ability to pay program or membership fees. We need annual support so that we may continue to provide job-saving childcare services, after school programs for at-risk adolescents, aqua-therapy for those living with arthritis, summer camping opportunities for disadvantaged urban youth, and much, much more.
Volunteering. Whether coaching our youth sports activities. assisting our program instructors, or serving as a member of our Board of Directors/Managers, there are many ways for you to use your talent and time to enrich the lives of children and families in our community. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you may call the Metro YMCAs Branch nearest you, or call the main office at 973-758-9622.
Strong Kids' Campaign. Each year the Annual Support Campaign raises funds for our Financial Assistance Program for those who otherwise could not afford to participate in a Y program. With your gift, we will:

send disadvantaged youth to day and resident camps for fun, healthy activities

enroll deserving children into enrichment activities such as youth sports and computer classes
- run before and after school programs to give youths a positive place to spend this time
- provide child care to needy families, enabling parents to seek employment
- offer arthritis therapy and other programs to seniors on fixed incomes
- offer access to many other great Y programs

Our 2007 Annual Support Campaign is in progress right now, so I did want to make you aware of a new option that could benefit you. Our YMCA has long been a partner with the United Way in our funding. Many workplaces offer their employees opportunities to contribute through the United Way. Within this giving, one has the option to dictate where this giving may be earmarked to. I am proud to say that our YMCA is now an official option. While we understand that your decision to direct contributions to specific organizations is a personal one, we truly appreciate any and all support to carry forth the excellence of our YMCA programming and initiatives.
