Summer Day Camps at the South Mountain YMCA
The South Mountain YMCA offers a wide variety of Summer Day Camps that are perfect for all children,- preschool through teens. Our camps provide activities that are educational, exciting and fun, but most importantly, it is an experience that builds self-esteem, lasting friendships and treasured memories.

Overview of our 9 Different Camps- Something for everyone!
Unless otherwise noted all camps run from June 30 – August 29,
*½ Day Pre-School Camp (Ages 2½– 4 yrs) August 11-29, 9am- 12 Noon
Y –Knots I Camp (3 ½ yrs old-Entering Kindergarten) 9am-3pm
Y -Knots 2 Camp (Entering Grades 1 and 2), 9:30-3:30pm
Creative Dramatics I Camp (Entering Grades K-1)
Creative Dramatics II Camp (Entering Grades 2-4)
SO-MAP-Y Camp (Entering Grades 1-5), 9am - 3:30pm

Sports Galore Camp (Ages 5-10) July 21- August 8, 9am – 3pm (no am ext. care)
Teen Adventure Camp (Entering Grades 6-8)

Extended Camp Care (Before care is not available at Sports Galore)
Care is available for those parents who need child care before camp starts in the mornings, and after it ends in the afternoon. Morning care begins at 7:15am, and afternoon care ends at 6:30pm. Both programs are held at the YMCA Jefferson Avenue Location - except for the Dramatics and the Arts & Science Camps, which are held at their campsites. Healthy snacks are provided and campers will be engaged in activities such as sports, arts & crafts, enrichment programs and more.
Free Bus Transportaion for both SO-Map-Y and Teen Adventure Camps is available at various locations in Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange.
Pickup Times: 8:30 - 9am Drop-Off Times: 3:45 - 4:15pm
Drop off times may vary on trip days!
SO-Map-Y and Y-Knots Camps are accredited by the American Camping Association and licensed by the State of New Jersey.
