Welcome to Summer Camp 2008
The YMCA introduced organized camping to America and for more than one hundred years, the YMCA has been an innovator of camping activities nationwide.
The East Orange YMCA is accredited by the American Camping Association, which means our facilities, equipment, safety, staff credentials and training are of the highest standards.
The East Orange YMCA continues the tradition by providing exciting and fun-filled summer camps for young people with a full range of educational and recreational activities for children between ages 3 and 15. Youngsters will participate in a traditional well-rounded camp program featuring sports activities and instruction, swimming, arts and crafts, computers and weekly field trips.
Camp Discovery (Ages 3 to 4) Preschool age children will have opportunities to participate in a traditional well-rounded camp program. The actitivies include arts & crafts, computers, swimming, outdoor games, educational activites & review, weekly trips, exploration of our neighborhoods & community and much more.
Dates: June 23 - August 22, 2008
Regular Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

City Explorers (Ages 5 to 10) Youngsters will participate in a tradional well-rounded camp program featuring sport activities and instruction, swimming, arts & crafts and computers. In addition, campers will also gain an awareness and appreciation of their community and city through trips to cultural, environmental, performaing arts and business institutions. Weekly themes will focus on community programs and services.
Dates: June 23 - August 22, 2008
Regular Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Extended Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
An additional fee of $25 will be charged for each session for either the morning or evening periods. For both periods, the fee will be $50.

Teen Camp (Ages 11 to 15) Teens will gain new experiences through trips to places such as the beach, museums, New York City, as well as visits to sporting events and theater activities. Weekly themes around the environment, history, culture, sports and education will be the background for all activities. Campers will keep a scrapbook of places visited and experiences gained.

Note: Additional fees for some trips may be required.
General Information: Camp sessions are three weeks in length. Parents are responsible for arranging children's transportation to and from the YMCA. Youngsters who are not currently YMCA members are required to join. The youth membership fee is $50. Scholarships, based upon financial need, are available on a limited basis to eligible participants.
Early registration is encouraged.
