East Orange YMCA

Conveniently located in the heart of East Orange, the East Orange YMCA serves families, children, adults and seniors from East Orange and Orange. The East Orange YMCA is open to the community six days a week and houses childcare classrooms, a pool, a teen center, a gymnasium and a computer training center. The branch's main program focus is childcare including: day care, after school care and summer day camps. Our preschool program has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which has gained recognition as the standard for best practices in the field of childcare, and our camps have been accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA).

The East Orange YMCA collaborates with the East Orange School District to provide early childhood education to preschoolers through the Abbott Preschool Initiative. The branch is also an approved NJ State Department of Education Family Friendly Center. Through this initiative, the East Orange YMCA implements after school programming for middle school students and their families. This is in addition to our after school programs at the East Orange YMCA and their NJ After3 after school programs at Whitney Houston School of Performing Arts.

For teens looking for a fun, safe place to socialize, the YMCA also has a Teen Center with activities that include arts & crafts, computers, games, homework help, music, trips, special events and guest speakers.
